The Pennsylvania State Police has established a web based computer application called Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH). Individual can apply for a criminal background check using this system. “No record” certificates are returned immediately through the Internet to the requesting individual 85 % of the time.

The second system is to submit an appeal structure. This reaction is dependent upon a correlation of information gave by the asking for individual in Part I of the structure against the data held in the records of the Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository just, and does not block the presence of criminal records which could be held in the vaults of other nearby, state or elected criminal equity orgs.

One duplicate is to be submitted with a cash request or guaranteed check for the measure of $10 payable to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), anyone working with or observing children in public and private schools, IUs, and vocational-technical schools are required to provide proof of the following clearances:

-Federal Criminal History Record

-Pennsylvania State Criminal Record Check

-Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
