Nutrition Food Guide for Kids


We all are aware about the fact that making our children eat nutritious food is a real task. They are more fond of junk food like chips, burgers, etc. and when it comes to eating nutritious food, you see them making faces and trying to avoid it. Though, if you really work around this problem, solving it is not a difficult task. But, yes, you need to work on it, do a little bit of hard work also. Here are a few tips on making your kids eat nutritious food. 

Make the food look good – When the food is attractive the kid is automatically drawn towards the food and wants to eat it. So, while making the food or serving it, make it in such a way that kids feel like eating it. Even while serving arrange it is an attractive way.  You can use a combination of healthy stuff and kids favorite stuff as well. 

Eat together – When the whole family eats together it induces a culture of togetherness and increasing the bonding in the family. Also, while eating together, kids see the elders eating nutritious food and that culture is induced in them too. Also, with family, kids tend to eat properly in a better way. 

Cook together – Cooking together is also a great idea and involving kids in the process increases their interest in eating the food as they have put in the effort for cooking the same. They could be given easier tasks while cooking as well. It’s not only a fun filled activity for them, where they can learn about the benefits of food while helping you out. This would increase their information about good and nutritious food and motivate them to eat it as well.  

Avoid Eating Junk – While you are out of the home, eating in hotels and restaurants always try to avoid junk. Rather go for a lot of salads as a major potion and less quantity of junk food as well. Once, the kids are used to eating junk food, this habit would only increase with age and the result of the same would be obesity and other digestive disorders. Moreover, the kids would always nag while they are given nutritious food as well. So, this has to be started right when the kids are infants, because starting at a later stage does not much help in changing their food habits. It’s like a stitch in time saves nine. 

Go Grocery shopping with kids – Another fun method of indulging your kids into good food habits is taking them for grocery shopping. What you can do is ask your kids to select the vegetable and fruits of their choice and when you cook what they have selected, they would certainly want to eat it. 

Kids copy elders – If the elders in the house are into healthy food habits, the kids would pick those habits up and they learn from their surrounding and in young age more from family members. So, if the food culture of the house is good enough and includes a balanced diet which is full of nutrition, the kids also learn to eat nutritious food for kids. So, as a responsible elder of the family you need to keep a watch on your food habits as well.
