For that Iranian government has issued tourist visa for all foreign nationals who are in need of travelling to Iran individually or with the family or friends for the purpose of visiting Iran or their relatives. Iran has tried to narrow the complex and time consuming method for applying for visa. There are set of Iran travel visa requirementsfor getting a visa to visit Iran. A new regulation has been passed on September 23rd 2011 which states that all visa applicants should bring all the necessary required documents and along with it they must enclose the proof of adequate medical travel insurance coverage from Iranian or Foreign Insurance Agents for allowing a smooth processing of their application for visa.
There are three types of Visas available for foreigners, they are
* Tourist visa: These visas are issued for 30 days and can be further extended. These must be obtained before visiting Iran and is valid only up to 90 days from the date of issue.
* Tourist visa on arrival (VOA): These visas are issued for 15 days. These visas can be obtained on arrival from all international airports. This option is very simple and fast but can be risky as there is a chance for denying the entry.
* Transit visa: These visas are issued for seven days. You must be from a different country, and should have a visa to the destination country. These can be obtained within a time frame of two days and you need not have any authorisation number. But these visas are not issued to US passport holders.
The basic Iran travel visa requirements include getting your paper work right. These include:
* Applicants for visa who are under 18 years must be accompanied by their parents and provide all the necessary documents such as Birth certificate and Parents’ Marriage certificate.
* There should be a personal letter from the applicant which is addressed to the Embassy of Iran, explaining the purpose of visit, place of accommodation, days of travel and places which are intended to be visited.
* Approval letter along with thereference number that was issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iran.
