Etekcity MS555 Wireless Mouse Review

If you need a wireless USB mouse for your laptop or desktop computer, the Etekcity wireless optical mouse is the perfect choice. Compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs, simply plug in the micro USB receiver and within seconds you will be able to use your new mouse. Bringing increased usability to your computing experience, the Etekcity wireless optical mouse features a standard two-button design with a scroll wheel, plus two thumb buttons for increased functionality.

A built-in DPI switch lets you select from 1000, 1200, and 1600 DPI for adjusting sensitivity on the fly. The attractive black-and-grey design adds a modern appearance to your workspace, and the high-resolution optical sensor provides consistent, accurate performance. The mouse is powered by two AAA batteries, and an auto-shutoff feature ensures that your mouse will be ready when you need it.

This mouse feels like you are wrapping your hands around in a glove. I'm a computer programmer and I discovered that I pick the mouse up quite a bit when I move the mouse around the screen. If I'm not careful how I use my mouse and keyboard, my wrists hurt at the end of the day. This isn't the type of mouse you need to pick up because of its ergonomic design. Instead you learn to use the little button under your middle knuckle that centers the mouse. This eliminates the need to pick up the mouse when it reaches the limit of the desk and allows you to position the mouse anywhere on the desk and then center the cursor. I also have large hands and this mouse expanded to fit my hand perfectly.

Etekcity 1600 DPI Scroll Wireless USB Mouse

Pros:
- Ergonomic design fits fingers in grooves to make the mouse feel like a glove
- Mouse expands near the thumb for a more comfortable feel
- Button on top centers the mouse in the screen
- All of the buttons can have their default function changed
- Lighted thumb rest changes color to indicate the DPI, which can be changed with a button on the top of the mouse.
- The carbon fiber look is nice looking, without the cost.
- Inexpensive for what it does.

Cons:
- The drivers came on a mini CD and not all computers can accept mini CDs. It worked on my desktop computer but my laptop uses a slot load cdrom and didn't accept the mini CD.
