Being A Picture Taker At A Music Or A Concert

Mixing photograph with music always gives you the best cocktail. And, in order to get best of the both worlds, many aspiring people, who are photographers, are becoming concert picture takers and photographers. Many amateur, semiprofessional and professional photographers are taking pictures of various music and rock concerts around the world. They are mainly doing this for two reasons, one for their love of photography and other for their love of music. These professional concert photographers are combining both their love of clicking pictures and seeing their idols on stage. Just think that you are only few steps away from the people you god worship and taking pictures of them. This will just be heaven for some people. Let us look at some things which you should keep in mind when you are about to start your career, or even a hobby, as a concert picture taker.

Try to start at small-time concert venues:

This is very essential as small stages will correctly set you up for the big league. You may need practice and proper trial and error methodology in order to succeed in taking concert pictures. Hence, going to smaller concerts to set your hands up for the big gigs is not at all a bad or a time wasting idea/option. In fact, there might be very less crowd at a small concert, and because of that, you will be able to take many pictures in order to compare your best settings.

Try getting a press pass or photographer’s pass at any concert you want to cover:

This is because of the fact that you need to be in a great, and at a front line, position in order to get the perfect view of the stage and the people on it. Since, if you are a professional, you need to get the best and the top quality pictures in order to get paid from your work. So, getting into the perfect position becomes a need for you. Also, taking pictures from a distance may cause issues regarding quality and in fact taking pictures from a crowded (general public stand) position will be impossible.

Use the correct lenses and camera equipment in order to get the perfect picture:

Going for small aperture lenses at concerts are a way to go. Because these lenses, preferably 50 millimeter lenses with an aperture point of 1.8, can come in handy to take the perfect picture of the musicians on the stage. These lenses have a great level of professionalism in them and they work in various conditions and scenes. Taking the perfect camera is also a huge factor in order to get the perfect click. Using Digital S L R cameras are always preferable and many photographers use them as they can produce awesome pictures. Also, try using fast zoom lenses and full frame cameras in order set yourself up for that best click picture of your favorite musician on stage. As sometimes light becomes a problem, use high quality flash and flash settings in your device.
