Dr. Manvir Bhatia is the director of the Neurology and Sleep Centre, Chairperson of Dept. of Sleep Medicine at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi and is also a Senior Consultant Neurologist.She has been a pioneer in creating awareness about Sleep Disorders and establishing the role of Sleep Medicine in the country. The Neurology and Sleep Centre provides facilities for all electrophysiological investigations and consultation for neurology and sleep related disorders. Consultations are provided for common neurological and sleep problems, and various tests can be performed at the centre for patients who require. We provide screening devices, facilities of carrying out sleep study, CPAP titration at patient’s home or at our centre.
Dr Manvir Bhatia is a Senior Consultant Neurologist and the Chairperson of Dept. of Sleep Medicine at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. She is the Director of Neurology and Sleep Centre at L-23, Hauz Khas Enclave New Delhi. She has been a pioneer in creating awareness about Sleep Disorders and establishing the role of Sleep Medicine in the country. After completing her DM in Neurology in 1993, at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, she continued as a faculty member in the Department of Neurology, and was given charge of the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab. She attended training courses and workshops in USA & England in Electrophysiology, Epilepsy and Sleep Medicine. Following this, Dr. Manvir Bhatia integrated the knowledge to initiate the Epilepsy Surgery Programme at AIIMS, other important developments included starting the sleep clinic and sleep laboratory and developed the ‘state-of art’ Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory in the country. Dr Manvir Bhatia has been invited to deliver lectures in National & International workshops, conferences on topics related to Neurology, Epilepsy, Sleep Medicine and has sleep published papers in leading journals. Dr Manvir Bhatia completed her MBBS in 1981, and Doctor of Medicine in 1986 from Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana. She is a member of Indian Academy of Neurology, Indian Epilepsy Society, Indian Sleep Disorders Association, World Association of Sleep Medicine, International Restless Legs Society Study Group and American Academy of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Major areas of interest are: Epilepsy, Sleep Disorders, Headache, Peripheral Nerve and Muscle disorders, Memory problems, Parkinson’s Disease etc..
The 'Neurology and Sleep centre' centre’ was established in May 2008 at L-23, Hauz Khas enclave, New Delhi. This centre provides facilities for all electrophysiological investigations and consultation for neurology and sleep related disorders. Consultations are provided for both neurological disorders (e.g. epilepsy, stroke, headache, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, pain or weakness in arms and/or legs etc) and sleep disorders (e.g. snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome etc).
The tests available include EEG, Nerve conduction studies or NCS (done for neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, evaluating pain, numbness etc in arms and legs), Electromyography or EMG (done to evaluate muscle disease, muscle weakness, back/neck pain, radiculopathy etc), Repetitive nerve stimulation test or RNST (done for myasthenia) and Evoked potentials – visual, auditory and somatosensory (done for impaired vision, hearing, multiple sclerosis etc).
We provide facilities for Sleep Studies(at patients house and clinic based).
