So how do you get from level 1 to 70 quickly? Here are some tips and tricks:

Play with a party.

When you get into a Season, go in with a full party so you all get bonus experience. If you all have decent player skill, you can go through the monsters quickly at the highest setting you can manage.

Set your difficulty to something comfortable rather than the highest you can handle.

The key to farming and leveling is kill speed optimization. You want to be on the highest difficulty level that lets you run through mobs without dying—ever. When you die, you waste precious minutes where you have to respawn, get back to your team and continue the pace. If you die all the time, you should tone down the difficulty. Try Torment 1 first or even Normal. You kill more monsters and maximize your time when you don’t die.

Choose your mobs.

The denser the enemies, the better. When you can get the monsters to come to you and swarm you, you’re maximizing the time you spend farming experience and items. Unless you’re looking for something, leave the area with sparse enemies since you’ll spend more time running after them than killing them.

Raise your walking speed.

Since you’ll be starting from scratch, choose your gear to raise movement speed. This makes you go through quests and find things faster.

Optimize for the DPS trifecta.

Since you’re starting from scratch without any gear, look for gear with the DPS trifecta in them: CHC, CHD and AS. You’ll kill faster if you have decent skill.

Craft items and gear sets.

The best Legendary Items and Rare items you can have when you’re starting from scratch are crafted items. This means you have to level up your Blacksmith. Since these just require Death’s Breath and Forgotten Souls, make sure you get yourself a set of whatever is highest in your recipe list.
