Ten Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy with IVF Treatments


If you are you considering in vitro fertilization (IVF) to get pregnant here are ten success tips to help you and your partner relax IVF process and maximize your chances.

Tip one: Do some homework before start

To select a successful IVF centre it takes patience and time. After screening potential IVF sites and clinics in your area, research them. Compare different qualities such as:

Are the physicians certified?
What specialties have they certified in?
Do the clinics have accredited labs?
What types of services and amenities are offered?
Do they have experience with many women of similar age, health condition and procedure?

Tip two: Do it in early age

Age affects fertility. It is estimated that as many women have trouble with fertility after 35 and most struggle to conceive after 40. To reduce the impact, start your IVF cycle as soon as you and your doctor decide that you are a good candidate for the procedure.

Tip three: Use acupuncture

Asian cultures for centuries used acupuncture for health treatment. Studies have shown acupuncture may be beneficial for who are undergoing the IVF process. Studies show fertility may be boosted when performed within one day of the embryo transfer.

The waiting involved with screenings, testing, and procedures are almost more than most can bear. Some couples have waited months and years to get pregnant, then they are immediately disappointed to find that the process involves a lengthy time commitment. Focus on staying patient during this time, an important tip is to relax, stay busy, and stay active with friends and family. Discover activities that are fun and relaxing.  Keep your mind off of any worries during the journey and most importantly have hope on the doctors.

Tip eight: Appoint a counsellor

Consider talking to a psychological counsellor if you feel anxious, depressed, relationship feels strained etc. Being involved in stress management program or undergoing counselling may boost your chances of conceiving. Do not be ashamed or guilty if your emotions are overwhelming during this time. It is completely normal. Still, practice self-care during this time.

Tip nine: Eat many well balanced meals a day

Due to hormonal changes in the body pregnant women need to eat many heavy and well balanced meals, therefore the food should be split into small portions.

Tips ten: Get plenty of rest

Get sleep at least for eight hours in the night. Take naps during the day, if there are sleep disturbances during the night.
