MT CET is an exam that is conducted for the admission of Maharashtra candidates in engineering courses. Till 2014, the exam was conducted separately but from 2015 it has been dropped and JEE will be considered to provide admission. Candidates will now have to go through the JEE Main and qualify it so as to get admission under MT CET 2015. Admission will be granted on the basis of All India Rank and State Rank.
Candidates will be able to take admission in various engineering courses available to them under the process known as MT CET 2015 admissions. Candidates will have to qualify JEE Main exam and obtain a valid rank so that they become eligible for the counselling round. The counselling will be conducted by state's own committee after the declaration of result.
Selection Process in MT CET 2015
The selection of candidates will be done on the basis of score they obtained in JEE Main 2015 and XII class or equivalent marks in equal ratio.
Eligibility Criteria For MT CET 2015
Candidates must attend the counselling only if they are completely eligible for it. If they fail to satisfy even a single point of eligibility criteria then they will not be allowed to take admission under MT CET 2015.
1.They must have qualified in XII class or any other equivalent exam with maths and physics as main subjects and either biology/computer science/chemistry or biotechnology as optional subject.
2.Candidates must have scored minimum of 50% marks in qualifying exam. 5% relaxation has been provided to the candidates of OBC and PwD category.
3.Applicant's birth date must be on or after 1 October 1990.
4.Maximum of three attempts are allowed for qualifying the exam.
MT CET 2015 Exam Pattern
Since there will be no MT CET 2015 Exam, therefore candidates must have complete knowledge about the exam pattern of JEE Main. Below we are providing details for all the details about exam pattern that might help candidates in their preparation for exams.
1.Two papers will be conducted, i.e., paper 1 and 2.
2.Paper 1 will be for the candidates interested for admission in B.E and B. Tech courses whereas Paper 2 will be for the candidates who are interested in B. Arch courses.
3.Paper 1 will be conducted via online and offline mode as well.
4.Queries in the exam will be asked from the syllabus of class XI and XII.
5.Marks will equally be divided in all the sections.
6.As the questions will be multiple choice, therefore candidates will have to mark the best answer according to them.
7.1/4 of marks allotted to that question will be deducted if that particular answer is incorrect.
8.Correct answer will add 1 mark each.
9.Un attempted questions will have no effect on the total marks scored by them.
Along with the form of MT CET 2015 admission, candidates must fill the application form for JEE Main 2015 as well. The form for MT CET will be released in June 2015 and it can be filled via online or offline mode. For filling the form via online mode candidates will have to visit the website of MT CET and to fill via offline mode they will have to buy the application kit from designated ARCS.
