Niles Goodsite is an Emmy Award-winning veteran of the television industry. During his career, he has been associated with some of the most prestigious programs in TV history, and also been one of the medium's most positive contributors.
For most of his career, Niles Goodsite has been a stage manager and an assistant director. He was the stage manager for Pavarotti Plus!, a live telecast of a performance by acclaimed opera singer Luciano Pavarotti. For that production, Niles Goodsite provided his organizational skills and quick thinking to keep the show running smoothly.
Niles Goodsite has always loved his work, and refers to himself as "a lover of show business on both sides of the set." In addition to movies and TV, he enjoys attending live theatre whenever he can.
Niles Goodsite first made his mark on the business as a stage manager. He has served in that role for many productions, including I'm Home, a program about the pregnancy of a nineteen year old girl; a remake of the classic game show To Tell The Truth, and seventeen episodes of the popular Fox network situation comedy, Married With Children. Niles Goodsite has worked on highly regarded programs like Sesame Street and Life From Lincoln Center, and on popular daytime dramas like One Life To Live and The Young and the Restless.
In 2000, Niles Goodsite was the Assistant Director of the film Blood on the Backlot. The position provided him with a good deal of administrative power and responsibility; he maintained order on the set and lent his expertise to a number of the movie's technical aspects.
Blood on the Backlot is a twenty-two minute short film directed by Michelle Deal. Set on a Hollywood Backlot in the 1940's, the film follows Detective John Waddington as he investigates the murder of an aging starlet by what eyewitnesses describe as a werewolf. With the help of a studio security officer, Detective Waddington rounds up the suspects, pieces together their stories and ultimately discovers what really happened.
Niles Goodsite is also a thirty-five year member of the Directors Guild of America. The Directors Guild represents the creative and economic rights of directors and members of the directorial team working in film, television, commercials, documentaries, news, sports and new media. Niles Goodsite is one of some fifteen thousand DGA members worldwide. Members include not only directors, but Assistant Directors, Unit Production Managers, Associate Directors, Stage Managers and Production Associates.
