Rudraprayag is the town and the municipal corporation of the Rudraprayag district located in the state of Uttarakhand. Rudraprayag lies at the confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini Rivers. · Koteshwar Mahadev Temple: Situated at a distance of 3 kilometres away from Rudraprayag on the banks of the Alaknanda River, Koteshwar is a cave temple dedicated to lord Shiva. Large number of devotees visit this place during the month of August and September as it is believed that this was the time when Lord Shiva used to meditate in this place.
· Dhari Devi Mandir: The sacred temple is situated in the banks of Alaknanda River. The deity of this temple is Goddess Kali and the holy shrine hold importance amongst all the Hindus. To reach this temple one has to trek 1 kilometre from the Devi Village.
· Chamunda Devi Temple: Situated at the emergence of Alakananda and Mandakini Rivers, the temple is dedicated to the wife of Lord Rudra.
· Koteshwar: The name of the temple means Million god. This is a temple of Lord Shiva and is made up of natural caves.
· Kartik Swami: This temple is dedicated to Lord Kartikeya the son of Lord Shiva. To reach this temple one has to trek 3 kilometres from Kanak Chauri village.
· Basukedar: This is another Shiva temple constructed by the Pandava.
The city is well connected to the country. The nearest airport is situated in the Jolly grant Airport near Dehradun. The railway station is at Rishikesh. However the stations is quite small and is not connected to the fast trains. Haridwar railway junction is 24 kilometres away from Rishikesh and these stations has trains to almost all major cities in the country. Other than that the roadways are also well connected.
