3rd November will be officially be remembered as “ LOLLIPOP DAY” by the Android lovers, but is it really something to be excited about and make a day in a year to be officially being “remembered” is a big question. It’s been in a continuous motion for the android updates that only a few minor changes are to be seen and then rest everything else is same and with a huge purr there is much said about Android lollipop, but does it really have something stirring or it’s just a LOLLIPOP to Android lovers ??
WHAT IS IT GIVING TO THE USERS
It is said that Android 5.0 Lollipop will come up with its debut on the Nexus 9 which is Google’s new tablet and the Nexus 6 which has just come in the market. It feels that this will preferably be the new change with of course many flaws as well. The new changes one can see is the “Material design” and this one particular thing makes Android Smartphones feel as the biggest update than all the previous interventions. If we see in comparison with Android 4.4 it used the chromium version where Google had the role play, but in this new version, Android 5.0, web view is the unbundled form and this helps google to release any update through the play store anytime and this will help the Android users as they will get all the updates instantly.
"Webview was a tough one, and a really important one because something like 70 or 80 percent of apps in the Play Store have a Web View for one reason or another," Burke said. "Web View encapsulates Blink (Chrome's rendering engine), which is a very large surface area, so you want to be able to constantly update that for performance and security reasons. That was a big initiative."
The security has increased with this update; with Web view which is just a browser that is there in the app, and even as the part of OS as well. Earlier this was only updated once or twice a year but now with Android 5.0 Lollipop it is quite theoretical and the updates are much faster and quicker and even are more attack prone from others.
In Android 5.0 Lollipop there is a future proofing in its initial device setup. Android 5.0 supports two-factor authentication right in it the software, and this renovated the whole setup for the Android Lollipop, according to Cohen. "One of the really interesting and challenging things about stabilizing a platform is you have to live with what's in the setup process because you have to get through setup to get to anything else."
It came with a new setup which is the pre-installed carrier apps with a new feature which is “play auto install”. This feature will help in downloading only the carrier apps during the setup process, as compared to now where there is permanent storing of carrier apps, which the users can’t uninstall as of now users can easily uninstall them all completely.
