Pykara Lake:

Situated amidst lush green valleys, the placid lake of Pykara is a lovely gateway from Ooty. Here, a seemingly calm lake is surrounded by forests. A boat house by this waterfall and dam is an added attraction amongst tourists. Boat house is one of the most popular Ooty attractions, so you should make sure to enjoy the ride on one such boat. Some boathouses have rest houses and restaurant, so you can not only enjoy the scenic view of the lake, but at the same time spend some fun-filled moments on the boat. Emerald Lake:

Located at an approximate distance of 25Km from Ooty, Emerald Lake received visitors from different parts of country. This is one of those places which should not be missed at any case. It is an elegant lake with the upper plateau region of the Nilgiri hills. This lake is part of the silent valley. It is one of the best picnic spots in this region. The chirping birds and ducks swimming calmly in the lake make this place a scenic destination among tourists. If you wish to get a spectacular view, then you should visit here during morning or evening hours.

Kalhatty Waterfalls:

The height of this waterfall is 36m. Popular among tourists and trekkers alike, this waterfall can be seen during Ooty-Mysore route at an approximate distance of 13K. The road runs via the Kalhatty Ghats. Situated on the slopes of Kalhatty, the gigantic Kalhatty waterfall stands pretty amidst enchanting landscapes. If you want to view the waterfall in its best form, then you should visit here from September to November. 

Ketti Valley View:

Situated on the Conoor Road, the Ketti Valley View is the second largest valley in the world. Home to the Badagas & tribes such as the Todas, Ketti represents a way of life that revolves around caring for livestock & cultivation of vegetables & potatoes.

St. Catherine Water Falls:

From Dolphin's Nose of Conoor one can have a magnificent view of St. Catherine Waterfalls which is about 250 feet height. But it can be reached from Kotagiri at a distance of 8 kms. To reach the top of the hills tourist should take a diversion at Aravenu on Kotagiri - Mettupalayam road.

Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary:

It is an ideal adventurous place, located in the heart of Nilgiri Hills. During the adventures of this sanctuary, you would notice varied mixture of flat land, open grassland, swamp and valley. It is situated at an alleviation of 1000 meters. Langur, bonnet macaque, tiger, leopard, wild dog, hyena, jackal, sloth bear, elephants, gaur, sambar, spotted deer, Indian muntjac, mouse deer, wild boar, rodent and flying squirrel are part of the wildlife in Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary. Bird lovers can also have great time here because this wildlife sanctuary houses wide varieties of bird species.
