When it comes to offering nourishment, care and splendour, Mother Nature is the undisputed one for all living beings. For every species on the Earth, nature has plenty to offer. In normal consumption rate, irrespective of the density of population of the species, the resources are bountiful. It is when indiscriminate exploitation occurs, is when the natural resources of Earth are in jeopardy. This is exactly what is happening in the present day world. The greed of one certain species called Homo sapiens is wreaking havoc in nature kingdom, destroying it to mend to their commercial aspirations. One has seen many a dense forest deplete into nothingness, thanks to the greedy aggressiveness of the human race. While this indiscriminate exploitation is harmful for ecological balance, it also endangers the livelihood of thousands of other species in the world. One can only imagine repercussions that the mindless exploitation of Mother Earth can have in the near future.
Waterfalls form an important facet of the environmental harmony. Sometime they form natural barriers to degradation and in other times they are the providers of the resources that are needed by the thousands of species who call the waterfalls their home. A waterfall is seemingly priceless and destroying one can have grave consequences than expected. It is the responsibility of the so called civilized society to retain and if possible replenish the resources that Mother Nature has so lovingly bestowed upon us.
It is often seen that activist groups and alike take out special campaigns to educate and initiate nature conservation among the common mass. One of the most innovative campaigns that are doing the rounds currently is the one from Costa Rica. Fed up with the gross exploitation of natural waterfalls, some campaigns to contribution for waterfall have been set up. These campaigns are aimed towards providing a metre or so of land in the waterfall in lieu of a little contribution. The ownership is given to the activists who want to save the ecological balance there. Due to multiple small ownerships, it becomes hard for land sharks to gobble up land for commercial purposes. Educating and spreading awareness among the common mass is an important step in thwarting the evils of natural resource exploitation.
