Jewelry That Blends Parisian Designs With Popular Aesthetics

The article studies the impact of Paris and French design in jewelry.

Karine Sultan jewelry is all about the full play of French designs showing off its significant impact on modern jewelry. The French fashion made a deep impact on clothing design and architectural design. In the early 1890s, this French influence crystallized into a movement called Art Nouveau, or New Art.

The creator behind Karine Sultan is Karine, a gifted designer and a woman of substance. She was receptive to the French influence and excelled in jewelry design after she married Thierry, a fashion jewelry owner in Paris. The pair jointly built a Fashion empire in Paris and that made Karine a key player in Parisian Jewelry industry with a record of having sold 5 million pieces till date.

Karine Sultan Paris Designs are a fine combination of great imagination, inspiration from the diverse places she travelled. Karine Sultan has drawn inspiration from many sources. It can include Cartier of Paris with its superb craftsmanship known as 'the jeweler of kings and the king of jewelers.”  There are also legacy elements from Alfred Van Cleef & Arpels, known for its gem-setting procedure with a unique exposure, using hidden prongs.

Karine continues to innovate in designs by infusing elements drawn during her journeys and immersed in the deep and exotic heritage of countries. As a gifted designer she uses invaluable treasures of French culture to create her jewelry.

Moves To US

In 2006, Karine relocated to Los Angeles and that brought her vision of Parisian Fashion to the US, where she and started a new Fashion Jewelry line suited to American women and named it after her. It was in 2007, she launched her new line, Karine Sultan Jewelry that later became a roaring success.

On analysis, it can be found that the contribution of new style made jewelry move away from its reliance on precious gemstones including diamonds. Thanks to Art Nouveau, enameling and semi-precious gemstones, like opals and garnets became wide spread. That marked a shift in to the overall design under the designer's whims by allowing concrete fashion trend to prevail.

A new style, named Dragonflys with the texture of turtle shells and grass started to emerge in jewelry designs. More impulses of new fashion continued from Paris.

Although the art movement belonged to the late 19th century, its imprint is felt in the modern jewelry of today. When the movement originated, jewelry design was making only an effort to update older designs with a more modern twist. Today, the fashion wave has jewelry designers putting their own modern flair over the dated masterpieces.
