The people traveling to Iran can apply for a visa at the Iranian Embassy located in their home country. The travelers are only allowed to travel to the cities that are mentioned in the visa. The prescribed norm is that travel visa is issued for only a month. In addition, it depends upon political actions at the time of the application, it can be difficult to obtain visa for anything for more than a period of 10-days.

Visa Application Requirements While You Apply for Iranian Travel Visa

Any traveler who wished to apply for Iran travel visa needs to submit the following documents:

Two copies of the prescribed and completed visa application form

·         Visa fees payable only by cash or money order

·         Your passport needs to have minimum of 6 months remaining until expiration. The passport needs to have a minimum of two blank pages.

·         Your day-to-day travel itinerary

·         Two passport size photographs

·         Your letter of invitation needs to have details of your travel.

·         Applicants are also required to submit their round trip airline tickets and proof of the hotel reservations.

·         Visa is valid only for cities which are annotated on your visa

All the travelers who wish to stay for a longer period like three months must apply for and obtain a residence permit right away. This application has to be submitted at the Police Headquarters or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran within eight days of their arrival in Iran. If a person follow the exact rules and allow plenty of time for processing of their visa, they will have no problems getting a visa to Iran.
