In 1970, a few guys who loved comic books thought it would be fun to create a San Diego Events at which comic fans could discuss their hobbies and, maybe, show off their collections. A few hundred people showed up, and the event organizers considered it a success. Fast-forward to 2014 and the Comic-Con International: San Diego has grown just a bit – this year more than 130,000 people are expected to attend.
This San Diego Event is the largest comic-con in the country, and fans of comics, sci-fi, anime and other niches come from all over the country to take part in the 4-day Comic-Con. Getting tickets to this always-sold-out Event is like finding the Holy Grail, and those lucky enough to attend will have the chance to meet illustrators, writers, actors, and others from the world of comics and sci-fi.
Costume contests are serious business at this San Diego Event, and some of the best cosplay participants in the country will come decked out in their amazing creations to compete in one of the costume contests that take place during Comic-Con International.
